I love DIY projects and I love checking out new places in Pittsburgh (and surrounding areas), so I was pretty stoked when AR Workshop popped up on my radar! AR Workshop is a boutique DIY studio that offers hands-on, custom home decor classes. Think art class meets wood shop meets Joanna Gaines. (Which is a pretty great combo!) The cozy little shop in Robinson is perfect for a girls night out, a relaxing solo date with yourself, family outings, parties... really anyone. The classes are designed for all skill levels. And for my readers with kiddos, they even have family-friendly workshops! Oh, and you aren't limited to just wooden signs either. I personally chose to build a tray, but ARW offers all kinds of options: Wood wall hangings, trays, seasonal decor, wedding things, canvas hangings, bags, and even incredible chunky blankets! Browse their Instagram for a quick look. so how does it work?Step 1: Register online and pick your project! Like any class, ARW requires advance registration. Hit up their website, pick a time that works for you, and select the project you want to make. (Note: Make sure you pay attention to the type of class on the schedule. Some workshops are dedicated to specific projects. Like chunky blankets!) Projects range from $40-$70. That may seem like a lot but trust me when I say it's worth it. It's a beautiful space, the instructors are great, it's something you can say you built from scratch, and it's a night out! Step 2: Gather the provisions. ARW is snack-friendly and wait for it... BYOB! We came fully-stocked with wine, cheese, and chocolate. If you do decide to bring wine or any kind of drinks, I would recommend bringing a tumbler. Something like this prevents the chance of spilling red wine all over yourself, your project, or your workspace. I stopped into Marshalls before my class and snagged one for 8 bucks! Step 3: Get to work. When you arrive for your class, you'll grab an apron and jump right into it. You'll be assigned a seat where all of the materials for your custom design will be prepared and laid out for you. Each class at ARW provides instructors to help guide you through the project and lend a hand if you run into any problems. You'll sand, stain, assemble, and paint until you have a gorgeous wall hanging, tray, or pillow to take home. Make sure you snap a photo of your creation and tag @arworkshoprobinson. Cuz IG has gotta see the magic! TRY IT OUTIf you can't tell by my raving review (guilty) I really loved my experience at AR Workshop Robinson. I took my best friend, Taylor, along with me and we both couldn't stop talking about how much fun it would be to bring in work friends, our moms, neighbors, second cousins, strangers. You get it lol. Oh, and we'll DEFINITELY be back to get our hands on one of those blankets.
If you're ready to go for it, I've got you covered with a special Burghologie promo code. Use "BURGH10" at checkout to save $10 on any workshop over $50! Note: The promo code is case-sensitive. Be sure to use all caps! I'd love to hear about your experience. Shoot me a DM on Instagram or hit me up via email at burghologie@gmail.com. Happy crafting, guys!

I miss going out on trips with my girls. Well, every single one of us began working again, and it is not fun. It has been incredibly difficult to catch up with one another, and believe me, it was not for a lack of trying. We all tried to get off of work, but it is not easy. This blog made me realize that our time is important, I want to hand out with my girls soon, I miss them so much right now.
